I would like to thank everyone who came to celebrate with Claire and make it a brilliant party. I would also like to give a special thanks to the artBeast staff. [...] OK. So many of you know we had a hard time adjusting to kindergarten,the new schedule,noises,people,places…basically everything! With a few visits to the OT and several tries at a new schedule,I think we have finally found something that works (for the time-being anyway). Lately Ross especially has needed a physical outlet for his energy and sensory needs. If he does not get enough jumping,banging,crashing,etc,he begins pushing and banging everyone with his head. We looked for a school for 3 years,went back and forth,and did not finally decide until this July. Claire ended up attending Brookfield School that meets at the synagogue down the street. Our major concern was that it is [...] For Claire’s 5th birthday she really wanted a guinea pigs. For about a year she had been asking for a guinea pigs,but at first her sensitivity to touch and texture kept her from holding them. Their claws are very sharp and they can move very quickly. For over 6 months,we went to [...] As a child,I was sensitive like Claire to fragrance and soaps. I could never have bubble baths. So I new the disappointment Claire feels when she can not play with all the colorful bath products her cousins can,and when we have to give away gifts of bath soaps,etc. Then a few weeks [...] Claire started pre-school just before turning 5,and at pre-school they would “cook”every Thursday. For the first few months I would get a lot of questions about Claire’s diet,what could she have because of her sensitivities. Gradually the questions changed to what will she have?
