Share our Button with your Natural Moms! | One of Claire’s Sensory Processing Disorder symptoms is called Oral Defensiveness. Symptoms of Oral Defensiveness most commonly are gagging and avoidance of strong tastes. By this I mean things that the average person would find normal. Claire does not like any seasoning or spices. I mean none, other than salt, and she can taste everything! [...] We all know the old adage,“an apple a day, keeps the doctor away.”Well, now we have a new one…It turns out a banana a day has far more benefits than we imagined. It’s also one of those fruits every one (even Claire) will eat and easily found organic all over the country. According [...] So I am calling the last Family Meal a success. We ended up having it on Monday because my parents were in town over the weekend. I think it looks like Sundays are going to be the best nights in the future. So Ross,Mark, and I all likes the meal and Claire took her [...] So we had our first family meal night on Sunday. Mark and I were sick all weekend and so I wanted something simple and did not want to go to the store. I found a basic recipe for cornmeal pizza dough and thought we would give it a try. The common health benefits of mandarins are like oranges:vitamins C,calcium, and [...] Elderflower and Elderberry I have been getting a lot of questions about elderberry over the last few weeks, and came across this great article in The Herb Companion magazine. It provides good information on the historic medical use,how to grow them, and some fun recipes for elderflower. I really don’t have much to add [...] We always get a lot of trick-o-treaters at our house for Halloween,so I like to stay home and answer the door. I don’t like handing out anything I wouldn’t give my own child, but have to watch the cost since we get at least 100 kids and on a good year more like 200. [...] My friend Jill recommended Raising Your Spirited Child by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka to me. It took me awhile to get around to purchasing and reading it,but I finally did. Overall I would recommend this book whether or not you think your child is “spirited”because so much of the content is just about [...] | |
